A popular class within our MPX major is on the writings of C.S. Lewis.  It’s required for MPX majors, but also draws a crowd from other majors who are interested in Lewis’ books and take the class as an elective.  We cover 6 Lewis books over the course of the semester…kind of doing a survey of all of the different types of books Lewis wrote. 

So far this semester we’ve done The Great Divorce, Miracles, The Pilgrim’s Regress, and The Weight of Glory.  Today we began working through The Screwtape Letters, and most of the students seem to really be enjoying it. 

The class is primarily discussion-based, with everyone bringing their questions and comments to the table.  At the end of each book, students write a summary and response paper as a capstone of their experience of the book.
