This past week, VISIBLE SCHOOL hosted their annual Hebrew Heritage Lecture Series, sponsored by the MPX Department. Each year, John Phelps of haOr l’Olam Ministries (haOr l’Olam means “The Light of the World”) comes in to lead some insightful sessions on the Hebrew background of the Christian faith.
Topics such as the Messiah in the Old Testament to specific teachings of Jesus to a variety of other things are shared over a day and a half of seminars.
But the ultimate cap of the Lecture Series was on Thursday evening with the Seder-Passover meal. This is a time when John leads the staff and students through the Old Testament understanding of the Passover meal and the spiritual significance behind all the actions. But even more, the foreshadowings of Christ are revealed and no doubt it is an mind-blowing experience. No doubt this series will continue for years to come. |
