The question sometimes comes up...why is there a ministry department at Christian Rock School? Fair question. The history behind that is something like this:
When students first come to Vis School, there are required Bible/Theology/Ministry classes that everyone has to take, regardless of his or her major. Some students come to the school pursuing music or media production, and then realize that they have a real heart and talent in ministry-related stuff. There was enough of that going on to lead us to create a new major at the school to accomodate this. Since then, in addition to "conversions" from other departments, we've begun to have students apply to our department directly, choosing us over other "Ministry Preparation" schools and Bible Colleges. I'm very proud of the program we've built here, and I feel that it prepares ministry-minded students better than any other college around. |
